Spend the night in Halifax- a vibrant and cosmopolitan capital city by on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Dinner at one of the fabulous coastal seafood restaurants.

The drive to Peggy’s cove is about 2 hours not including stops. Peggy’s Cove wind swept granite rocks have been rounded and smoothed from centuries of wind and sea erosion that defines the rugged Nova Scotia coastline. Peggy’s Cover is arguably the most photographed areas in Canada.
Later in the morning continue to Lunenburg, a Canadian UNESCO World Heritage site. The town is renowned for her fleets of Grand Banks’ fishing schooners. Visit the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic to learn about the town’s famous seafaring heritage before heading off to postcard perfect Mahone Bay.

Head northwest to cross the Confederation Bridge, the world’s largest continuous multi-span bridge to Prince Edward Island. First stop, in the town of Truro situated at the edge of the Bay of Fundy.
After crossing Confederation Bridge check out the Province House where the first meeting was held by the Fathers of Confederation. Spend 2 nights in Charlottetown and take in a theatre performance at the Confederation Center of the Arts.
Drive by red cliffs, white beaches, gently sloping sand dunes and green fields as you make your way to Prince Edward Island National Park. Before returning to Charlottetown, visit Green Gables Heritage Site, the alluring inspiration of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s classic Anne of Green Gables books

Leaving Charlottetown head towards Orwell Corner Historic Village. This abandoned village contains a cluster of buildings which have been restored to give visitors a sense of life in the 19th century. Continue to Wood Islands Ferry crossing to Caribou, Nova Scotia then make your way east to Cape Breton Island for a taste of Scotland in North America.
On the ferry, relax and enjoy the fresh sea air during the crossing. Summer crossing features live entertainment. Your accommodations for the night are set on an 11-acre resort on the shores of the glorious Bras d’Or Lakes. You’ll enjoy breathtaking view, beautiful landscape a lakeside restaurant, nightly live entertainment in summer, kayaks, canoes, stand up paddle boards, and more. If you enjoy a good massage, book your appointment before leaving home to insure availability.

Encircling the Cape Breton Highlands National Park is the Cabot Trail, a 300 km loop that is considered one of the most amazing drives on the continent. Visit Cheticamp, an Acadian community that is home to the striking Catholic church of St. Pierre, built in 1893 and recognizable by its sandstone architecture and soaring silver steeple.

The Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site awaits you today. Words cannot do justice to this reconstruction depicting one-fifth of the settlement of 1744 New France. Roam the streets and chat with authentically costumed guides. Proceed along the shore of the Bras d’Or Lake to the mainland, and back to Halifax where your Enchanting Island Drive ends. Fly home the same day or overnight for a last delicious seafood dinner at the waterfront.
