Included*: all meals, nightly entertainment, one of the largest dance floors of on the seas (although smaller than regulation competition floor), nightly dancing to live music, unique dance environment, lots of time to mingle with our coaches and judges. First come first served will enjoy one dinner with Marcus and Karen Hilton MBE. We can accommodate 24 people during the course of the cruise to dine with our honoured guests, Note that all CDC travel guidelines at the time of sailing will be adhered to.

Marcus and Karen Hilton MBE

Together, Marcus and Karen are a force in the ballroom dance world. They are the undefeated 16 times World Champions: 9 x World Professional Ballroom Champions, 1 x World Professional 10 Dance Champions, 3 x World Professional Ballroom Showdance Champions, 2 x World Amateur Latin American Champions, and 1 x World Amateur 10 Dance Champions. We are thrilled to welcome them to our 2021 team.

Emcee Marcus Hilton MBE

Marcus is president and Chairman of the Board of the British Dance Council. He is also the voice of Blackpool. The Hiltons’ climb to the top of the dance world was accomplished the old- fashioned way. They earned it through hard work and practice. We are honored that he has agreed to emcee our fun competition and become the voice of Poseidon Ball, at least for 2021. Make no mistake, despite a fun ambience, is the old-fashioned way that will get noticed on the dance floor.

Karen Hilton MBE

Karen will join our judges panel. She is sought after as an outstanding and talented coach. Karen has been recognized as one of the world’s best dancers and judges. Welcome!

Warren and Kristi Boyce

Join Great Britain’s leading couple in the Professional Ballroom field and record reigning nine-time champions of the UK Closed Professional Ballroom Championships and six times British National Professional Championships.  They had enjoyed an extremely successful career as Amateurs, winning the British National Championship a record six years and one World title.  As professionals they have won the Carl-Alan Award for Most Outstanding Professional Couple and placed in major finals including the British Open in all test dances at the Blackpool Dance Festival. They are much in demand all over the world entertaining audiences with their fabulous shows and competitive performances. At the latest Award ceremony in the dancing world Warren & Kristi won the Professional category at La Classique de Danse Awards 2022.

World winners Warren & Kristi have joined the Poseidon Ball team and will be adjudicating as well as hosting a workshop.

Aleena Tan

It is an honor to welcome renown World and International Adjudicator Aleena Tan to our judging panel. Ms. Tan is well revered for her work in the Ballroom Dance world. In 2017 Ms. Tan was inducted into the IDO Hall Of Fame and currently serves as the IDO President for Asia and Asia Pacific Regions. Some of her esteemed honours include awards from the Japan Ballroom Dance Federation, the Australia Dancing Board and the Penang State Consultative Committee.

Aleena has been featured in several documentary television shows. A dancer since the age of 12, she has performed in youth festivals, stage and television shows as a lead dancer with the Sunny Low dancers. She is responsible for establishing the IDO (International Dance Organization) in China, India, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and many other Pan Asian countries. We warmly welcome Aleena to our esteemed judging panel. Stay tuned!

*A minimum of 6 single dances and 1 championships is required to be eligible to dance in the scholarship or the showcase. All dance heat entries are 50% refundable in the event of cancellation prior to March 21 and non refundable after March 22. A minimum of 10 dances is required to participate in the competition.

Men, women, and same sex couples will compete among each other. Entry to workshops, competition, cocktail reception, and group class with Marcus are inclusive

Social and Competitive Dancers registration fees includes master classes with Marcus and Karen Hilton, Warren and Kristi Boyce, welcome cocktail party, group dining, and more. Fee: $525 upon booking your cabin.

Non dancers and friends registration fee – $400 – to include entry to competition, cocktail party. Evening dancing to Cunard’s live band. All competitors and non dance friends must book their cabin through us.
