American Style Ballroom and night club dancing with Steven James

Steven’s love of movement began on the stage as part of Theatre Beyond Words, a theatre company that took him on tour across North America, Europe and Asia. Yet Ballroom and Latin dance kept pulling him. It was Jennifer Jones, CEO and Dean of Joy of Dance Centre and Teachers College who convinced him that he should pursue his passion. Steve is teaches American smooth and rhythm as well as West Coast Swing and Hustle.

Steven received his certification from Canadian DanceSport Federation in American Ballroom Smooth and Rhythm. His love and passion for teaching American Smooth and Rhythm comes from the deep belief that dancing is a fun, liberating and energizing experience that heightens awareness of the body and creates a unique connection between people.

Argentine Tango with Andrea Shepherd and Wolf Mercado

Andrea and Wolf both grew up immersed in dance, and each has been dancing tango for more than 20 years. They met – through tango – in 2003, immediately began teaching together and a few years later opened their own school, MonTango, which has become one of the top Argentine tango schools in Montreal and recently celebrated its 14th anniversary. Andrea and Wolf have performed at a number of festivals over the years, have made several television appearances and have taught in several cities around the country. They organize the Tanguerafest festival every year and have created, produced and directed a series of four stage shows titled Historias de Tango. Andrea and Wolf have become known for the passion they convey when they dance, the quality of their teaching and the warm, inclusive atmosphere at their milongas. Wolf is especially known for his strong lead and deep understanding of posture and movement. Andrea – also a yoga instructor – has built a following for her creative, intuitive DJing as well as for her writing. Her tango blog, lifeisatango.blogspot.com, ranks among the top ten in the world and in 2021 she published a book titled 25 Tango Lessons.
